I love me some phantom brave right now just because it is easy to break. Something is wrong with me because I just can’t get into one aspect of these games, and it’s the grinding. Maybe I need to find something more minimalist? What do you guys think? But everything I've seen looks unappealing to me. So here are my questions for you guys: What do you guys think make this game what it is? And do we have any games today like it? I feel like I would really enjoy having a turn-based strategy game to relax and play, as opposed to all the fast paced games in my library. Or I see games like X-Com and Shadow run, where I feel like the graphics take away from it, and I just wish I was playing an action shooter. I guess they either look too "simulator-y" or resource managing like the Civ games, or when you get far enough in Spore. The reason this is tricky for me, personally, is I would say that I strongly dislike turn-based games and / or strategy games. It's one of the most enjoyable games I've ever played, and I've never found anything I consider similar. Plus, with all the different programs you could buy and deploy, you never felt forced to go with a specific strategy or approach. You took turns moving the pieces you chose at the beginning of the level and deploying their unique attacks or abilities until you had eliminated all the enemy pieces on the board or reached the objective.
